This game got me good.. The jumpscares? BRUTAL. The tension? Perfection. But the overall message really stuck with me. The tie ins from the other games absolutely blew my mind, seeing the connections unfold made everything hit 10 times harder.
I love the moral of the game ! The atmosphere is really well done and most jumpscares got me soo good :) The comic was cool and Kudos to whoever drew that but it did seem somewhat out of place in the game. There was a lot of different stories going on at once and I feel like the ending mightve been somewhat rushed a little . I did really like the real ghost hunter/ youtubers footage in the game ! Thought that made the game more real . Overall its a very well put together game . I do not regret buying it at all and look forward to playing future Emika game's creations :)
This Game Broke Me in Silence — and That’s What Makes It Brilliant
Pieces of Me isn’t a horror game that chases you down — it sits beside you, quietly, and makes you remember something you thought you’d buried.
From the opening moments, this game builds a sense of emotional dread I haven’t felt since the developer’s earlier title September 7th — and if you know, you know. The connection is there. Subtle, but personal. It hits differently when you realize it’s the same pain, grown up.
The themes of bullying, guilt, isolation, and unresolved trauma aren’t just thrown in — they’re lived in. The game doesn’t explain everything. It doesn’t need to. Because if you’ve ever felt like you were the villain in someone else’s story, this hits straight in the gut.
Yes — the audio in the school scene is jarring. That’s because it’s supposed to be. It’s not bad mixing — it’s deliberate oppression. The bell, the voice, the distorted silence — it pulls you back into that exact kind of place where you wanted to disappear. That’s not a bug. That’s a memory being ripped open.
This is a horror game made by someone who understands fear isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet. Personal. Shameful. And I respect the hell out of that.
If you want a jumpscare-every-30-seconds type of horror game, look elsewhere. But if you want something that lingers with you after you close it… If you want to feel something that makes you rethink your own past...
Fantastic game! I highly recommend to play it before watching anyone. Right amount of jumpscares, creepy environment, awesome atmosphere, and best of all, a great message at the end of it. A true masterpiece. Well done, as usual, Emika. Fantastic.
This game is EASILY the best Horror Game of the year! Emika, you have made your BEST one yet. The artwork is beautiful, the sound was designed very well, the story was so great, and the jump scares were perfect. I loved everything about this game and the fact that Emika presented this game with a message for others to not bully that was amazing. I love how it connected September 7th into the game as well bringing back and in characters we knew of before. The comic book touch was a super awesome touch! Emika's artist for this did an amazing job and shoutout to the actors who did the voiceovers and in video scenes. I thought that was pretty cool!
I want to start by saying that I really enjoyed this game! I liked the stronger approach to the narrative side of this story being told. With that being said, I think that it could've been done in a more effective way, rather than note after note after note. I think it started to draw me out of it about halfway through. Still some good scary moments in here, but don't expect it to be as up in your face as the previous titles were. Still a very good game, that connects the previous stories together!
